First Visit to the Ancient Bokator School in Cambodia

Bringing South-East Asian Ancient Martial Arts Together

Finally, the first solid link between Bokator and Muay Sangha has been established. After a week of meetings Ajarn Bokator Sam Kim Sean and Kruu Muay Pedro Villalobos have decided to work together to recover all the ancient techniques and to restore the truth about the origin of ancient martial arts in South-East Asia. The effort on both sides has been tremendous due to the sacrifice of family, money, patience and discrimination to find the truth. At the moment this truth is hidden due to business corruption, ego and racism. We really hope that with the help of others, one day everything will come to the light. Until then we will continue working towards the reconciliation of the ancient martial arts in South East Asia with the help of different blessed teachers in each country. In the last week of May, the 4th anniversary of the Bokator school was celebrated and the seven Cambodian teachers of ancient Bokator Khun Khmer and Predal Serey were present giving demonstrations of their styles.

In Cambodia everyone is working together towards reuniting all the ancient styles. In Thailand I am trying to do the same thing but because I am not Thai it is a lot more difficult to re-unite all the styles of ancient Muay; Another problem is that, they are not many teachers alive that really comprehend a specific style of ancient muay Thai, most of them are masters in ring fighting. Soon, Kruu Villalobos will go to India and hopefully meet and train with the masters from the ancient martial arts of Kalarepayat and Indian wrestling. We really hope that we can meet another blessed teacher so we can continue awakening the ancient martial arts as the heritage of the whole of humanity.
