Muay Sangha School at the Maestros Magazine

Student from Argentinia reports about his training at Muay Thai Sangha School

Training in Thailand

This is an article that was published on the Martial Arts magazine “Maestros”, on April of 2005 in Argentina. The article talks about the problems that a professional Kick Boxer, Mr.Esteban Ladilinsky faced while he was training in a famous boxing camp, in the North of Thailand.Title Maestos Magazine

Esteban Ladilinsky went to Thailand on December first, to train and to know the roots of Muay Thai, the sport that he had practiced for two years with his partner Mr. Diego Fernandez.

After training for a month in a very famous traditional Thai Boxing Camp, Ladilinsky was disappointed when he saw the way that this camp taught. ”In the past there were great camps but today they are only focus in the business with foreigners. It is very difficult to learn because there are many people training and the very few instructors don’t have the will to teach”.

The student of Muay Thai not just saw irregularities in the teachings but also he discovered the dirty game of gambling about the students who fight without being ready. Without hope he started to look for another place, then he heard about one special place where they teach the ancient Muay Thai style called Muay Thai Sangha that is based in the recompilation of ancient styles some are more that 300 years old. Also he says that the school has many rules to follow in order to train there. For example that the number of students is limited to only 10 people per class. In that way you can get better attention on the practice. Another rule of this style is that they don’t use any kind of gloves or protections and comprises a high technique level. The last important point is the link with the cultural and spiritual aspects that today had disappeared in most of the sport or traditional Muay Thai camps. ”Every day before and after training we did meditation and we prayed to the spirits of Muay Thai. They are very especial teachings, and their expansion is difficult”.Article Maestos Magazine

Ladilinsky said that the training is intense. In charge of the school is Kruu (Instructor), Pedro Solana Villalobos, a Spaniard that had opened camps of Muay Thai and Krabi Krabong (Thai Weapons) in few countries. Kruu Villalobos is the founder of the Sangha style and he gave more that 17 years of technical experience to develop the style. Also he is a professional Muay Thai Champion(ISKA) and as well a Valetudo (No Holds Barred) Champion (SFO) when he had the school in United States.

Since the year of 2000, Kruu Villalobos is a Thai resident.
