Rediscovering Muay Thai
Page 2- Cleaning Karma
During his time as a monk Kruu Villalobos studied Muay Kratchua (ancient Muay Thai) with one of the arts finest Ajarns (teacher) in Bangkok and it was upon finishing his monk hood that he decided to open his own school and teach the concepts of Buddhism and meditation combined with the art of Muay Thai; the same way the old teachers taught the art a long time ago.
Kruu Villalobos tells of a history of how ancient Thai warriors became monks in an effort to clean their bad karma and make good merit after fighting so many battles, telling us “Some of these noble warriors decided to remain in the monk hood for the rest of their lives but some of them turned into great teachers combining the skills they learnt on the battlefield with the esoteric knowledge from their everyday Buddhist practices”.
“When younger generations arrived, those teachers passed on the art in a perfect balance, making Muay Thai one of the most powerful and proven systems of fighting in the World”.
