Training with the Thai's
Page 5 - Future Trip
Pedro "Villalobos" Solana is preparing for another trip to
Thailand to train and study and fight. "I am excited to go back,"
he says.
He
longs to return, in part to study and train with the masters, and also
to be with the Thai people. "The hospitality of the Thai people is
unbelievable. When you treat them well, they are incredibly warm. I have
never seen anything like it in my life." This time Villalobos will
be accompanied by seven fighters from his own team, including his student,
Richard "Tchalla" Trammell, the 1997 ISKA Light Middleweight
USA champion who boasts a record of 22-1.
One look at the Villalobos Team and you know that these guys are serious fighters ready for the rigors of training in Thailand. They are mentally prepared for life in the Thai camps. They are prepared for six full days per week of training in the heat. Their bodies are conditioned to withstand grueling heavy bag and Thai pad routines and the challenging sessions with the trainers in the ring. Villalobos team members even say they're ready for those dangerous runs through Bangkok's crazy traffic.
