Wing Chun Kung Fu
The History behind Wing Chun
Wing Chun is the name of a system of martial arts developed in southern China approximately 300 years ago. Its originator, the Buddhist nun Ng Mui, was a master of Shaolin Kung Fu and used this knowledge to invent a way to take advantage of the weaknesses inherent in the other Shaolin systems.
Wing Chun Kungfu is a very powerful empty hand system of fighting. Sensitivity and a good control of the center line are some of the main keys to master the art.
The system of Wing Chun Kung Fu consists of three empty hand forms, a wooden dummy form, a long pole form and a double knife form.
Kruu Villalobos supports the idea, that advanced Muay Thai Sangha students should learn Wing Chun in later stages, so they will have a better understanding of the energy flow and the leverage on each technique. The classes are open to Chiang Mai residents only.
Kruu Villalobos follows directly, the lineage of Sifu Francis Fong who inturn learned his Wing Chun skills in Hong Kong, from the skillfull and powerfull fighter Sifu Jiu Wan. Sifu Jiu Wan met Sifu Yip Man (known as the Father of Wing Chun) when both were old. At that time they exchange their Wing Chun knowledge. Just before Sifu Yip Man died, he offered to Sifu Jiu Wan a plaque asking him to become the father of Wing Chun. Sifu Jiu Wan refused because of his advanced age. Three years after the dead of Sifu Yip Man, Sifu Jiu Wan passed away.
